Emotional Intelligence and Numerical Abilities: How are They Related?

This Ex Post Facto research aims to determine the correlation between emotional intelligence and students' numerical abilities strength of two variables. Data collection was carried out on seventh-grade students at MTS N 7 Sleman Yogyakarta with a total 35 respondents. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Respondents were given an questionnaire ability test whereas previously instruments tested for validity reliability. data analysis in this study uses Simple Linear Correlation. Prerequisites that must be met before significance is linearity normality test. Using product moment/Pearson correlation, result rxy value 0.547. Also, obtained sig. 0.001 < 0.05 or F = 12.824 > 4.17 as H0 rejected. concludes there positive means higher possessed, student's ability. coefficient determination (R2) 29.90%, which variable affects by thus 71.10% influenced other Keywords: intelligence, abilities, Pearson correlation. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dari kecerdasan emosional dan kemampuan numerik siswa serta besarnya kekuatan kedua variabel tersebut. Pengambilan dilakukan pada kelas VII di dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 35. Teknik yang digunakan ialah Responden diberikan instrumen angket tes mana sebelumnya diuji validitas reliabilitasnya. analisis dalam penelitian menggunakan Korelasi Sederhana prasyarat uji linearitas normalitas. Menggunakan korelasi moment/pearson diperoleh bahwa sebesar Serta, didapatkan nilai 0.001<0.05 atau F=12.824 akibatnya ditolak. Kesimpulan terdapat positif antara hubungannya Hal berarti semakin tinggi dimiliki, akan berakibat pula siswa. Besarnya koefisien determinasi 29.90% mempengaruhi demikian dipengaruhi oleh lainnya.
